Project 100 Čempresa

The cypress (“čempres” in Serbo-Croatian) is a fast-growing, hardy, aesthetically pleasing tree that thrives in the Balkans. Cypresses have a high rate of CO2 absorption and are excellent soil stabilisers. We aim, to start with, to plant 100 of them in degraded post-industrial soil environments in the Srem region.

Phase 1 (September 2024)

Site research conducted, 5 test trees planted.

Phase 2 (July 2025)

95 trees planted.

Phase 3 (August 2025 and beyond)

Maintenance.
